Precollegiate Programs for Youth at the University of Oklahoma

Academic experiences and leadership training for
pre-college students, 1st through 12th grade

Precollegiate Programs at the University of Oklahoma reaches 5,000 youth each year with its array of academic enrichment and leadership programs.

Among the academic programs are American College Testing (ACT) and Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) examination review sessions; Model United Nations of the Southwest; and Ti84 Calculator Workshop for Teachers. and Gifted and Talented Enrichment program available to middle school through high school students.

Summer Camp Opportunities Include:

  • Summer Academies — funded by a grant from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, the summer academies offer a unique learning experience at no cost to the student. Academies are offered to students entering grades 8th through 12th.
  • Horizons Unlimited — a one-week intensive program for academically gifted and talented youth who enter grades 6th through 8th in the fall.
  • Mini College -offering many academic enrichment activities for students in grades 1st through 6th.
  • Oklahoma Mesonet Weather Camp - students entering grades 7th through 9th have the unique opportunity to study with the Oklahoma Mesonet at the National Weather Center in Norman.
